Why a closet safe at all?
The bedroom or dressing room is where your day starts. It’s where you pick what you’re wearing, slip on the watch and jewelry that fit your wardrobe and day’s activities, clip on the earrings, fold a few bills into your pocket.
For decades the answer was “put a safe in the basement.” That works until it doesn’t — until you’re skipping the watch and jewelry because you don’t feel like the trip downstairs, or letting valuables float around the house or sit in your top dresser drawer unprotected because the safe is just inconvenient.

Built for the closet, not forced into it

Why it fits 18″, 24″, and 30″ closets
(For the closet pro reading this: yes, those are the widths you spec all day long).
- 18″ cabinet (16.5″ interior). The cleanest install. The BlumSafe flange overlaps the cabinet face directly — no fascia panel needed, just some side filler pieces (framing wood) behind the safe’s steel fascia to secure it to the cabinet frame.
- 24″ cabinet (22.5″ interior). A simple fascia panel in matching cabinet material frames the safe inside the cabinet cavity. Similar use of side filler pieces. The safe flange forgives any small variance in the fascia panel cutout.
- 30″ cabinet (28.5″ interior). Same approach as 24″, with wider side fillers, centered in the cavity — or position the safe and flank it with drawers, shelves, a valet rod, or dedicated jewelry storage.
The point: whatever bay your designer was already building, the safe fits with very little additional effort.

Installation at a glance

- Confirm the cabinet interior is the right width and at least 7½″ deep
- Run a standard 120V outlet into the cavity for power, or provide for a wire route from the cavity to the outlet — NOTE: outlet must be accessible for maintenance.
- Build a simple plywood or MDF sleeve to cradle the safe within the cabinet cavity, slide into cabinet cavity and attach to back wall for added security with L brackets — NOTES: Ensure that you have a wire route through the floor of this wood cradle to the wire opening at bottom of safe; with cabinets wider than 18″, the sleeve must be attached with screws to cabinet sides before safe is inserted, or use longer lag screws than provided with safe to attach safe to both the filler piece sleeve and the cabinet sides in next step.
- Slide the safe in and anchor to the wood sleeve and cabinet sides with the eight included lag screws (four per side)
- Pull the power cord through, plug in, hand off to the client for final internal configuration of the safe
No mounting from the back. No difficult fasteners. No unhappy surprises.
