The BlumSafe Screen is getting a major upgrade — our beloved smart concealment solution is now available in a touchscreen version, with a 4K screen to boot! (Yes, people my age sometimes use the expression, “to boot”). If you’ve already fallen in love with the original Screen,  this new iteration is going to make your daily life smoother, more efficient  and just plain cooler, with the ability to interact with your screen’s calendars, to-do lists, and my favorite, controlling home automation tasks with SmartThings or Home Assistant.

• We’ve been listening to your feedback. Many of you love using the Screen to display your calendars, to-do lists, and photo galleries — but you wanted more interactivity. You wanted to be able to check off tasks, scroll through events, control your home automation app (lights, thermostats, scenes, etc.), and switch between screens with a simple tap. And now, you can. I have been into home automation since the 80’s when I started playing with the X-10 protocol (and seemingly every successor since), and this control capability with the touchscreen is the thing that ultimately sold me that we had to do this.

• Tapping calendar events to bring them to the forefront
• Checking off to-do list items from apps like Todoist and Google Tasks
